As educators, we strive to prepare our students for successful careers in their future industry, which means we must include practice with group work and teamwork. This session will flip the script from the group to the individual and allow participants to understand the approach of the presenters, who focus on students first understanding themselves, so they can constructively work together with others. The presenters will overview the importance of understanding oneself in group dynamics, facilitate conversation around the theoretical background, and give participants examples of how to incorporate these inclusive practices in their own classrooms. If you can’t understand yourself, how are you supposed to understand anybody else?
