Interface 2021 - Global Learning Gaps? First, Tell Me Who You Are: The Impact of Ethnicity and Gender

This session discusses the advantages of approaching global learning programs with a nuanced understanding of how gender and ethnicity may impact students’ attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors. Presenters will show data collected at the University of Florida during the last five years showing that significant differences exist in self-reported global awareness and intercultural communication when gender and ethnicity are considered. In addition, presenters will introduce the instrument that the University of Florida developed to conduct this analysis and inform participants on how they can use it free of charge as a campus climate or study abroad survey.
